Amandari's open air lobby was designed after a wantilan, or village meeting place,
with coconut wood posts and a floor of cool Javanese marble alternating with local volcanic stone.
Teak and coconut wood are used throughout the resort's 30 free standing suites.
The bamboo frame roofs are thickly layered with alang alang grass thatching.
Amandari haas the look of a Balinese village,
with river stone walkways lined with stone statues and shrines, gardens and high paras stone walls.

Accommodation is divided into
terrace and duplex suites. Eleven suites come with
private swimming pools, including the Amandari suite,
available with one or two independent bedrooms.
The bedroom of a duplex suite is dressed with
a four poster bed and a large livingroom (right).

   

 

Each spacious suite features marble flooring,
wall sized sliding glass doors, exposed timber and,
in the terrace suites, a king size bed.
All suites enjoy a large, sunken marble bath in
an outdoor garden setting.

 

 

Amandari's swimming pool is fashioned of emerald green tiles.
The curving sweep of lightly salted water mimics the rice terrace that tumble below.
Each evening, gamelan players perform from the music pavillion behind the pool.
The open air bar, close by the pool, offers a selection if alchoholic and fresh fruit drinks.

 
The Balinese style complex also
features change rooms and showers,
along with a sauna and steam bath.

 

 



Amandari reflects the upcountry village culture
of art and music and designed that surrounds it.
It is this inspired integration of the resort with
the Balinese world about it that makes Amandari

Crafted largely of teak wood,
the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner,
specializing in Indonesian and Western dishes.
The casual, two story restaurant overlooks
the swimming pool and the green valley beyond.
 

 

Amandari's guest facilities include the Library,
with an outdoor patio made for
late afternoon tea and a good book.
The floodlit tennis court includes a bale and table
for between game refreshments.

 
 
The resort's health and fitness center
was built with wide, window views to a lotus pond.
The exercise room includes a variety of equipment
and free weights.
 
From facials and manicures to cream baths
and mandi lulur massage, the health and
fitness centre offers awide range of Balinese beauty
and massage services.
Two open air massage bales complement the center.
 
 
Just five minutes from the art community of Ubud in Central Bali,
Amandari (peaceful spirits) is perched on an escarpment high above the winding Ayung River gorge.
The village of Kedewatan and its rice terrace lie alongside the resort.
Balinese believe that the path leading through Amandari is sacred ground.
